After introductions we will go to dinner and talk about the week ahead. (D) Monday, September 27: Woodstock, VT and the Vermont Country Store with a stop at Ben & Jerry's. We have two destinations today – Woodstock and the Vermont Country Store. Both stops today will transport you back in time when small towns were the center of life for the residents and a country store stocked everything you would ever want. We will conclude our day in Montpelier with a stop at Ben & Jerry's for a taste of their wonderful ice cream. (B) Tuesday, September 28: Montpelier, Culinary Institute and Morse Maple Farm Our day begins with a tour of the Montpellier State House and time to explore this lovely town before lunch together at the Culinary Institute. After lunch we will visit Morse Maple Farm for an education (and taste!) on how maple syrup is produced. We return to New Hampshire this afternoon with a leisurely drive to Bretton Woods. Overnight Bretton Woods. (B, D) Wednesday, September 29: White Mountains, New Hampshire Our day begins with a tour at historic Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods before heading out on a full day of touring in the White Mountains. (B, L) Thursday, September 30: The White Mountains & Freeport, Maine We travel east this morning with stops along the Kancamagus Hwy in the White Mountains of New Hampshire before entering Maine and traveling to Freeport - home of LL Bean. (B) Friday, October 1: Portland and Ogunquit, Maine Today we travel south. Our day begins with a short drive to Portland where we will take a brief drive through the downtown area and make our way to the Portland Headlight (i.e. Lighthouse).
