Schedule your flight to arrive Iceland no later than 10:00am. Look for the "FlyBus" and use this service to transfer to Reykjavik. 50 minutes later you will be in the most northern capital city in the world. Relax a bit before we have our Welcome Meeting in the lobby of the hotel at 12:00Noon. Afterwards enjoy a sightseeing tour of Reykjavik. For everyone with any energy left, go exploring the downtown surroundings with your Tour Leader. Overnight Reykjavik - 1 night
Saturday, 24 Jun 2017: Black Sand Beaches, Waterfalls and Kayaking (B,D)
From Reykjavík we travel through the town of Hveragerði and the surrounding fertile farmlands, noting the numerous glacial rivers enroute to Skógar and Skógafoss waterfall. We then continue to Dyrhólaey, a nature reserve where thousands of puffins nest during the summer. Discover the former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent at Kirkjubæjarklaustur before we head to our hotel and have dinner together.

Kayaking in serene waters with breathtaking views is a peaceful way to spend the day. Your expert guide begins by teaching kayaking techniques and discusses the stability and ease-of-use of these boats. Paddle along the coast and enjoy the magnificent views, before landing ashore and relaxing in the quiet Icelandic countryside.
Sunday, 25 Jun 2017: Europe’s Largest National Park; Glacial Lagoon & Glacier Walk (B,D)
Today we travel to Skaftafell National Park, one of Iceland’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty and Europe’s largest national park. The area is dominated by spectacular views of the mighty Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. Continue to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon where huge icebergs float and grind together in the still, deep waters of the lagoon.
YOUR ADVENTURE: Glacier Boat Tour and Walk —
Svínafellsjökull glacier is a breathtaking outlet glacier of Vatnajökull Glacier, with stunning views and scenery. We begin with a boat trip among huge icebergs near picturesque Jokulsarlon glacier. Taste 1000-year-old ice and learn about the geology of the lagoon. Later we meet our experienced guide who will show us how to use basic glacier equipment before we meander through a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and glacial crevasses. This glacier walk is suitable for all experience levels.
Monday, 26 Jun 2017: Folk Museum & Volcano Visitor Center; Gorge & Waterfall Walk (B,D)
Before we make our way to the famous Þórsmörk Valley we make a stop at both the Skógar Folk Museum and the Þorvaldseyri Volcano Visitor Center. The Folk Museum provides a look into the lives of Icelanders and their Viking forebears. The Volcano Visitor Center offers an in-depth look into the Eyjafjallajökull eruption of 2010 and the effects it had on the region. We continue on into Þórsmörk, which is shielded by glaciers, glacial rivers and mountains, and is the site of our gorge and waterfall walk. Overnight Fludir- 1 night.
YOUR ADVENTURE: Gorge & Waterfall Hike —
We will walk into the narrow gorge of Stakkholtsgjá, one of the most remarkable gorges in Iceland, which will take approximately 1 hour. At the end of the gorge is a beautiful waterfall, a true wonder of nature.
Tuesday, 27 Jun 2017: Geysers; Gullfoss Waterfall; History & Geological Wonders (B)
Today we depart for the Geysir hot springs area to see the famous Great Geysir and Strokkur, a hot spring that spouts every few minutes. Then it’s on to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls. Our next stop is Þingvellir National Park, where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland’s largest lake, before we head back to Reykjavik, check into our hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight Reykjavik - 2 nights.
YOUR ADVENTURE: ATV —
There’s no better way to get the adrenaline pumping than by crossing rugged landscapes on an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle). Kjoastaðir is located near Gullfoss and the Geysir hot springs area in Haukadalur where we drive on rough tracks and cross beautiful rivers. ATVing is not only a fun activity that everyone can enjoy but also a unique opportunity to enjoy the purity of exceptional surroundings.
Wednesday, 28 Jun 2017: Horseback Ride; The Blue Lagoon; Farewell Dinner (B,D)
We begin the day with an Icelandic horseback ride. A trek with the hardy, sure-footed Icelandic horse is an experience to remember. Whether you are a beginner or expert, these friendly horses with their alert and willing nature are indeed a pleasure to ride in their natural surroundings. All basic gear, such as helmets, boots and rain clothes will be provided. The staff will match a proper horse to your riding experience.
This afternoon we enjoy a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon, which is a unique wonder of nature with pleasantly warm, mineral-rich geothermal water in a middle of a black lava field. The high natural levels of silica and minerals give the lagoon its rich blue color. A visit to the Blue Lagoon is both invigorating and exciting whether bathing in the unique surroundings or indulging in an optional spa treatment in the luxurious and modern facilities. After a wonderful day we return to our hotel and relax a bit before going out to dinner at a local restaurant to bid our farewell.

Sadly, it is time to return home. Consider an afternoon flight if you want to have a little more time in Reykjavik, remembering that your departure time from Reykjavik will be at least 4.5 hours prior to flight.
